The Auto File Deletion Service will allow you to keep your AWS FreePBX instance tidy by deleting old Call Recording files from your server. You can specify the schedule it runs and the number of days of Call Recordings you wish to retain when the service runs. Connect to your instance via SSH and run the following command to access the EXPERT-MODE menu system:
smartupgrade EXPERT-MODE
("EXPERT-MODE" is CaSe SeNsItIvE)
Once in the menu, select Auto File Deletion. You will then choose the 1st option (install-afd) on the Auto File Deletion menu to install the service. This is fully automated and you will be returned to the menu when finished. Then you may select the 2nd option (Auto File Deletion Config) on the Auto File Deletion menu to set it up. In our example below, we have specified the AFD service to run weekly on Sundays at 23:00 and retain only the most recent 30 days of Call Recordings. You may choose any frequency or retention period you want (000-999 days).
You can manually run the AFD service by choosing option X (Run AFD) in the menu, but be CERTAIN to set your Local Retention Policy or ALL Call Recordings will be deleted from your system. We suggest pairing the AFD service with the S3 Sync service to allow you to retain an unlimited number of Call Recordings without filling up the volumes on your AWS FreePBX instance.
